What is the history of the Amway water filter?

Amway introduced its first water treatment system in 1984. In just two decades, the initial Amway water filter evolved into the eSpring Water Purifier, which first launched in Japan (2000) and U.S. and Canada (2002). Development of the Amway water filter included research focused on pressed carbon block, UV disinfection technology, electronic monitoring, “instant-on” UV technology, and “smart chip” RFID communication (wireless), which has led to over 400 patents, granted or pending, for the eSpring Water Purifier. The eSpring Water Purifier (formerly the Amway Water Filter) is now available in markets all around the world.
